All children have a reading book. The main scheme we use in Reception and Key Stage 1 is the PM reading scheme, this is supplemented with the Lighthouse scheme and Bug Club scheme. To help the children with their reading skills we do daily phonics sessions where we play games and learn new sounds. Children may also bring home key words, for example, said, the, here, I, it would be really helpful if you could practise these words at home with your child. Please watch the video below for hints and tips for listening to your child read.
Children visit our school library weekly. We share a story and look at the books. Children are allowed to borrow books from the library to share with you at home.
